When?

On April 14, 2012, we will have the fourth annual Run For Compassion. The race begins at 8am. Racer Bag pick-up will be at our race site Friday night, April 13th, from 6-8pm.

Where?

Our race starts and finishes at 2803 Earl Rudder Freeway in College Station. We are between the Emerald Pkwy./ 2818 exit  and Southwest Parkway exit of Highway 6. This is the Creekside Medical Office building, which houses the B-CS Abundant Life Family Practice. It is adjacent to Central Texas ENT office.

Parking will be at the race site, with overflow parking at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Why?

We are passionate about raising funds for Compassion International as they “release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.”

Run For Compassion 2012 funds will go toward constructing a brand-new building designed for 250 children in Breman Jamra in Ghana. This project opened in 2008, addressing the area’s tremendous poverty by providing children with nutritious meals, health care, tutoring, Christian education and more. Unfortunately, the only meeting site available to them is a dilapidated, rodent-infested school building that is also used for many other community functions and is often unavailable. The newly constructed building will provide a safe and sanitary place for this project to thrive! It will include six classrooms, six bathrooms, and office space for storing instructional materials. Local masons, carpenters, plumbers and construction workers will be hired to work on the project, helping inject a small but meaningful amount of money into the local economy.
Your contribution makes a difference in the lives of children living in poverty in Ghana!

We enjoy a partnership with the BCS Marathon, hosted by Mercy Project, working to rescue children from slavery in Ghana. Race Director: Chris Field.
